Programme for Bandit Films’ Adaptation Film Festival (16-20 Sept) announced
Bandit Films has announced the programme for the 13th Adaptation Festival https://cinemanorthwest.ie/
A retrospective of German Oscar-winning director Volker Schlöndorff, forms the core of the festival’s programme. There are also director interviews with the trailblazing director Pat Murphy and Sundance 2026 winner Myrsini Aristidou. Colm Tóibín will introduce a screening of Brooklyn and engage in a Public Conversation about his collaboration with Volker Schlöndorff.
Over ten films from local talent ensure the festival’s straddling of the local and international with the product of this year’s Creative Heartlands Bursary recipients and recent Skillnet backed productions screening in a dedicated programme. The first public screening of the Sligo shot feature Samanta Nobody from Ciarán Creagh and Niall Flynn will screen on the final day of the festival.
Adaptation is presented by Bandit Films and Cinema North West in association with The Glens Arts Centre and Sligo Film Society. It receives the support of Leitrim and Sligo Councils, The Arts Council of Ireland and Screen Ireland.
