The Making of Jimmy's Hall

(Johnny Gogan, 2013)

Coming Soon

In the Spring of 2013 we got wind that Ken Loach was location hunting in Clare and Galway for the Leitrim based historical drama Jimmy’s Hall which Donal O’Kelly had given to screenwriter Paul Laverty. We contacted them and introduced Ken and his producer Rebecca O’Brien to our Location Manager on Black Ice, Jim King.

The upshot was that the 1930s set film which tells the story of communist Jimmy Gralton, the only Irishman ever to be deported from his own country, ended up being shot in the Dromahair area.

This is the story of the making of the film.
