Founded in 1989 to make the short film Stephen, the
company was incorporated in 1992. It has been both lead
producer and co-producer of a number of European
co-productions, directed by Johnny Gogan. Bandit Films now
has relationships with all the main development and
production funders; the
Media Programme, the
Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealíon, the
Irish
Film Board as well as Irish national broadcasters
RTÉ and
TG4.
